How to eliminate air-cooled screw chiller fan fault?

The fan is generally installed on the top of an air-cooled screw chiller, and some users choose to install it on the side according to the requirements. For a screw chiller that uses a blower to dissipate heat, we call it an air-cooled screw chiller. Its installation environment must be kept open and the air flow easily. This will not affect the cooling effect of the air-cooled screw chiller.

However, if it belongs to the category of electromechanical equipment, some failures will certainly occur during installation or use. So, what are the common failures of the air-cooled screw chiller fans? How should the company rule out?

One, air-cooled screw chiller aircraft noise is too large:

1, the bearing parts wear / clearance is too large: If it is worn, it should be replaced, the gap is too large can be adjusted directly to the appropriate location;

2, high speed: can be improved by reducing the speed, if not yet resolved should replace the fan;

Second, the air-cooled screw chiller fan motor temperature rise is too high:

1, the flow exceeds the rated value: At this time can close the small valve;

2. There is a problem with the motor or the power supply: Find the cause of the motor and power supply;

Third, the air-cooled screw chiller fan bearing temperature rise is too high:

1. Lubricant (fat) is not enough or of poor quality: If the lubricating oil is not added enough, the company should fill up to the required part; if it is of poor quality, it should clean the bearing and then replace the qualified lubricating oil (fat);

2, the fan shaft and the motor shaft are different: should adjust the concentric;

3, bearing damage: At this time should replace the new bearings, or directly contact the chiller manufacturers to replace;


Fourth, air-cooled screw chiller fan outflow is too small:

1. Check if the direction of rotation of the impeller is reversed. This can be solved by replacing the position of any two wires in the motor.

2, the valve opening is not enough, and the belt is too loose and the speed is not enough: can have been adjusted to open the valve to a suitable degree of opening, the belt tension or replacement, and check the voltage and other measures to test the bearing;

3, inlet or outlet, pipe plugging: check the inlet / outlet, and remove the blockage;

4. The loose connection between the impeller and the shaft may be eliminated by direct fastening; if the gap between the impeller and the air inlet is too large, it should be adjusted to a suitable clearance.


The fan of the air-cooled screw chiller is equivalent to the cooling tower cooling system of the water-cooled chiller. If the cooling effect is not good, then the cooling capacity of the air-cooled screw chiller is absolutely insufficient, which directly affects the demand for chilled water. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly inspect, maintain, and maintain the air-cooled screw chiller, which can not only reduce the failure rate of the air-cooled screw chiller, but also help extend the service life of the air-cooled screw chiller.
